Romo had evidence of collapsed lung

Tony Romo finished the Cowboys' 27-24 overtime win over the 49ers with a fractured rib and evidence of having a collapsed lung. Dallas (1-1) also suffered other potentially costly injuries Sunday.

Pro Bowl receiver Miles Austin, who caught three touchdown passes, reaggravated a hamstring injury. Running back Felix Jones suffered a shoulder injury, and center Phil Costa reinjured his right knee.

Coach Jason Garrett refused to be specific Monday about the injuries. The Cowboys play their home opener Monday night against the 2-0 Redskins.

Chiefs put Charles on IR

Chiefs All-Pro running back Jamaal Charles will go on IR with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The NFL's second-leading rusher last season was hurt after taking an awkward step in a 48-3 loss to the Lions.

Robinson fined $40G

The NFL fined Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson $40,000 for his hit on Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin that drew a 15-yard penalty Sunday night. Robinson can appeal. Robinson led with his helmet and crashed into the area near Maclin's chin. Maclin was slow to leave the field but returned. Robinson was fined $25,000 last year for a similar hit on the Eagles' DeSean Jackson.
