GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Legion of Boom will be intact after all.

Richard Sherman, the Seahawks' loquacious All-Pro cornerback, will play in Super Bowl XLIX, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King. There was a possibility that Sherman might have to miss the biggest game of the year if his pregnant girlfriend, Ashley Moss, went into labor on Super Bowl Sunday.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Friday that he would leave the decision up to Sherman, while Moss told a TV station that her boyfriend would suit up.

Sherman said he and Moss had a contingency plan in place if she went into labor, but he refused to share it or say whether he would consider skipping the game.

"I would not like to miss the birth of my first kid, but hopefully and God willing, we won't have to cross that bridge," the cornerback said.

"I think he's going to be a disciplined young man and stay in there until after the game. He's going to do his father his first favor and stay in there for another week or two."
