Steelers defensive end Brett Keisel, who grew one heck of a beard over the past year, will shave the beard for charity on Feb. 24. And it's all for a great cause.
Keisel will help raise money for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Dispatch. The event is being called "Shearthebeard."
Keisel will be shaved by celebrity barbers at a local bar. He started growing the beard at the Steelers' mini-camp last spring to try and change the team's fortunes after Pittsburgh missed the playoffs in 2009. The Steelers went all the way to Super Bowl XLV before losing to the Packers at Cowboys Stadium.
