Eagles tight end Brent Celek missed practice the other day due to a rather unfortunate encounter with some rotten cheesecake. He provided some insight into the unfortunate incident in an interview on WIP in Philadelphia, and also touched on several other topics.

"It was a regular cheesecake and it was kind of warm," Celek said, courtesy of "I just acted like it was in the microwave for a second and it was actually sitting in someone’s car for about five hours.”

Here's some more from Celek on actual football topics...

On if this training camp is being conducted differently than previous years now that they’ve made the transition from Donovan McNabb to Kevin Kolb

“It’s not at all. Coach Reid is handing it the exact same way he handled other camps. We’ve got a young team but guys are still playing physical and we’re having a lot of fun out here.”

On comparing McNabb and Kolb:

“I had a lot of fun playing with Don. Don was definitely a character out on the field and off the field and he was a lot of fun to play with. And Kevin’s got his own personality, and we have a lot of fun with him. We joke about plays here and there but when it comes to game time it’s all serious business.”

On beginning to be mentioned as one of the better tight ends in the league alone with guys like Jason Witten, Antonio Gates, etc.:

“Yeah that definitely feels good. That’s something I kind of see in the offseason, but when it comes the season time, it’s all football and I try not to watch that stuff because when I zone in and don’t pay attention to anything else, that’s when I play my best football.”
