The Eagles released running back Brian Westbrook last year after he experienced continued ankle and knee problems, and Westbrook wound up playing for the 49ers in 2010.
But it appears there could be a reunion in Philadelphia if Westbrook has his way.
Westbrook said in an interview with Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia that he's in regular contact with Eagles head coach Andy Reid.
"I talk to coach Reid every week or so," Westbrook said. "We always talk, and I would love to be back in Philly. So we'll see how things go. I think I can help out. I think they have a very good group of young guys on this team at every position, but I still think I can help this team win."
If Westbrook does return to the Eagles, it would be in a backup role to LeSean McCoy, who has taken over as the team's feature back.
