Fantasy football owners were dealt a huge blow last night when Frank Gore suffered a fractured right hip and is likely done for the season. Brian Westbrook carried the load with 23 carries for 136 yards with a TD. Anthony Dixon had 14 carries and also scored a TD.
Both running backs are good pickups. Even though Westbrook was the feature back, the Cardinals defense is awful. Also, it was the first time in quite some time he had that workload. I worry about how his body will hold up this week.
Dixon was drafted because he fits the system. He is a power running back and I think he will get a lot of goal-line carries. It's difficult to envision Westbrook staying healthy and being able to have that consistent workload.
