People have developed a new way to take photos in the practice rounds. A fan stands with his or her back to the hole and has a buddy snap a shot with Tiger Woods in the background. Loads of people were doing it on the first hole just a little while ago. Plenty of people will have pictures of themselves with, in the background, there's a figure wearing a lavender shirt, black pants and white cap and white shoes.
Woods again is playing with Mark O'Meara, his longtime friend who hasn't been so close with Tiger in the past couple of years (O'Meara is remarried, lives in Texas and plays the Champions Tour). Again, it was quiet and respectful. As Woods left the first tee just after 8 a.m. (at the Masters, they don't let golfers out before that, nor do they let "patrons" in before that), a few people said, "Welcome back Tiger." He said, "Thanks...thanks guys."
As he came off the green, having made it out of the fairway bunker on the right, a few people said, "Good luck this week Tiger." No big fuss one way or another.
It is another beautiful day in Augusta. Woods' thunder might be stolen tomorrow, though,....by thunder. The only place in the forecast for bad weather this week is late tomorrow.
