Defending champion Angel Cabrera, who made a birdie putt on 18 yesterday to finish 3 over and make the cut on the number, just went off the first tee with Robert Allenby to begin the third round of the Masters.
It is another beautiful day in Augusta, meaning the weather will not be a factor in the scoring. The leaders, Brits Ian Poulter and Lee Westwood, will start in about four hours. Tiger Woods will be in the group ahead of them.
Poulter and Westwood aren't close friends or constant companions, my source on English golf said. Their relationship is based more on mutual respect than anything else. I say each has a real shot at winning this. Both are good and savvy (although I do now believe that Woods will be wearing the green jacket tomorrow night).
At the moment, I'm working on a feature for tomorrow's paper about the green jacket itself. It was first purchased from Brooks Uniform Co. of New York in 1937. There's no current listing for that company.
