Even before Tiger Woods announced that he was returning at the Masters, K.J. Choi's friends said they had a feeling K.J. was going to be paired with Tiger when he came back. Sure enough, when the pairings came out today for the first round of the Masters Thursday, there was Choi with Woods (and Matt Kuchar).
"I thought it would be cool to play with Tiger," Choi said, recalling what he was thinking even before a Masters official told him on the 15th hole of his practice round today that he will play with Woods at 1:42 p.m. Thursday.
Choi said he has played with Woods before and enjoyed it. "I like playing with big crowds," Choi said through an interpreter after he finished his rounds. He added that he is happy Woods is back, calling him "a good ambassador" for golf.
Kuchar was just making the turn during his practice round at 3:05.
