Charles Barkley, a friend of Tiger Woods, would not have gone about this the way Woods is. He said so in an interview on Fox Sports Radio last night.
Asked about Ernie Els' remark to Golfweek magazine that it was "selfish" of Woods to make his statement during the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship--a big international tournament sponsored by the first company to cut its ties with Woods over the scandal--Barkley said, "I one-hundred percent agree with Ernie."
"I'm not talking about the fans, I'm not talking about the press, because they go whether you win or lose or like that. You need to try to do a really good job of never alienating your players, your peers, and to do this press conference in the middle of a big tournament, I agree with Ernie. That's not cool at all.”
