Maybe what Phil Mickelson has needed all along was having Tiger Woods around. Mickelson did nothing to grab the wheel and steer the pro golf bus in Tiger's absence. I personally think and have written that he should concentrate more on just playing, period, rather than having a four-week schedule (for the majors) and enlisting in a tournament here and there to get ready for them.
He hasn't been sharp. But maybe with the specter of Tiger looming, he will put it together at Arnold Palmer's tournament in Bay Hill. Phil does look up to Arnold, even though this isn't a regular stop on Phil's schedule. It would be quite a story if he were to win this week, and another sign that tour golf is one major step closer to being complete again.
How would that be, Phil coming to Augusta off an impressive win? This is his week to reallly make a statement.
