LI Golf: Pro's tip

Today's tip

"To hit 50-, 60- or 75-yard wedge shots, it's all about controlling your backswing to match your desired distance. Many of my students make the mistake of taking a full swing and then trying to decelerate to hit their wedges a certain distance. Once you find your pace, use that pace for every wedge, and your backswing will help you find your distance. Think of your backswing as a clock and hit a certain "hour" with your backswing to reach your distance. Try this on your wedges and even your 9-iron and your control shots and knockdowns will be pin high every time."
