The last I saw Steve Marino, he was playing a practice round with Matt Kuchar, who has to play with Tiger today. Marino is 3 under through seven holes and leads by one over Bernhard Langer, who bogeyed No. 10.

Interesting that in Jack Nicklaus' news conference after his honorary tee shot today, the discussion turned to who might be able to break his record of being the oldest Masters winner at 46. People mentioned Fred Couples, 50, and Tom Watson, 60. But nobody raised the name of Langer, 52, who is dynamite on the Champions Tour.

No, he won't win, but he is as fit as he was when he won the Masters last in 1993 and he is as good as Watson, almost as good right now as Couples.
