Paul Casey sticks a nose in front

Playing two groups ahead of Tiger Woods on the front nine at Pebble Beach, England's Paul Casey has grabbed the U.S. Open lead by reaching 2-under through the first six holes. Casey scored birdies at the par-4 third hole and the par-3 fifth. Casey is paired with Steve Stricker, who birdied the par-5 sixth to get to -1, and Sergio Garcia (+2).

Through five holes, Woods and Ernie Els are even, while Lee Westwood is struggling at +4. Looks like the winner of last week's St. Jude Classic in Misn't going to be the first to win the U.S. Open after winning the previous week. So far, Woods has hit every green in regulation and has missed only one fairway.
