For the second straight hole, Phil Mickelson had a birdie putt of eight feet or less, and he missed this one just on the high side at the 397-yard 15th to remain even par. He's going along nicely but easily could be well into the red at this point if his putter were cooperating.
On the other hand, Padraig Harrington spent a second straight hole in the rough. This time, he played up the right side at the 15th, and his third-shot chip went well above the hole. Harrington actually was happy to make a lengthy bogey putt coming back from below the cup to drop to even par. Y.E. Yang made another bogey to go +3.
Soren Kjeldsen still leads at -3. Just a note on the shotmakers at -1, the group includes Jim Furyk, Justin Leonard, Mike Weir and Tim Clark. That tells you something. For one thing, Tiger Woods better have his iron game under control when he goes out this afternoon, especially if the breeze kicks up.
