Reporting from Gladstone, N.J/-- Angela Stanford had a long day yesterday, winning a pair of matches, then scrambling from Gladstone, NJ to Flushing. The LPGA golfer from Texas is a huge baseball fan and she wanted to get to Citi Field. Unfortunately for her, she didn't get to the Yankees-Mets game until the fourth inning and didn't reach her set until the fifth.
Then, with an early tee time for the semifinal here of the Sybase Match Play Championship, she left in the top of the eighth. Not to worry. She said a lot happened in those few innings.
In any event, she was rested enough to last 19 holes, winning on the first extra hole with a par over Amy Yang. So in about an hour from now she will play Sun Young Yoo in the final. Yoo defeated Jiyai Shin, the world's No. 1 player, 2 and 1
