Pretty cool on behalf of the British Open (sorry, I'm not falling for the Golf Channel pretentious jive of calling it the Open Championship; over here, we've always known it as the British Open) to have a special event for former champions the day before this year's tournament at St. Andrews.
It's the 150th British Open so they're inviting back all former champs to play a four-hole team event the day before the tournament starts. Tiger Woods will play in it, so will Arnold Palmer. It will be great to see Seve Ballesteros, who is recovering from surgery for a brain tumor.
Sounds like a cross between the Champions Dinner and Par 3 Contest at Augusta.
Just too bad Jack Nicklaus won't be there.
