Elmont's Valencia Hannon won the 100-meter dash at the Loucks Games on Friday in a wind-aided and school-record time of 11.81 seconds.
Hannon shattered her previous mark of 11.87, set at the Federation meet last spring, coach Mike Graham told Newsday.
"She was third out of the blocks," Graham said of the two-time defending 100 meter Federation champ. "It was amazing the way she started late and still covered the ground."
The Clemson-bound senior will compete in the 200 Saturday.
Nadel sets record. North Shore senior Samantha Nadel won the 3,200 meters in a time of 10:16.49 at the Loucks Games. The time was the fourth fastest in meet history, the fastest time in New York State this season and the fastest time ever run by a Long Islander, according to coach Neal Levy.
