Bella Costa scored in front off an assist from Sydney Marzano with 16:20 left in the game as Smithtown East defeated West Islip, 1-0, yesterday in Suffolk II field hockey.

Sophomore goalie Ava Quick made three saves for her fifth shutout of the season for Smithtown East (7-1). Isabella DeRienzo made 10 saves for West Islip (6-4).

West Babylon 3, East Islip 0: Kiera Layden had two goals to lead West Babylon (7-1).

Pierson/Bridgehampton 3, Comsewogue 0: Ana Sherwood had a goal in each half for Pierson/Bridgehampton (5-3) in Suffolk III. Cali Cafiero had a goal and an assist.

Harborfields 1, Rocky Point 0: Gianna Bifulco scored off an assist from Julianna Cavallaro with 18:55 left in the first half for Harborfields (4-4). Second-place Rocky Point is 6-2.

Massapequa 5, Oyster Bay 2: Caitlyn O’Connor netted two goals, and Shannon Bernhardt, Alexandra Kanapes (two assists) and Claire DeSilva added one apiece for Massapequa (4-5) in Nassau I.

Baldwin 2, New Hyde Park 0: Daniella Specht scored with 17:55 remaining in the game, and Alexis Holt added another goal with 6:15 left for Baldwin (2-3). Ann Grimshaw had eight saves for New Hyde Park (2-5).

Carle Place 1, Clarke 0: Alex Docyk scored in the last round of a shootout for Carle Place (3-0). Megan McGuinness had 13 saves.


Central Islip 97, Deer Park/North Babylon 86: Alison Cabanillas, Andrea Cano, Gabriella Guevara, and Kimberly Cabanillas won the 400-yard freestyle relay with a county championship qualifying time of 4:17:94 to lead Central Islip.

Smithtown 55, Lindenhurst 45: Marisa Lee won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.42 for Smithtown (3-1).


Northport 9, Whitman 0: Pat Raffone, Anthony Parziale, and Mike Kullack all shot a 1-over 37 on the front nine of Indian Hills CC for Northport (8-0) in Suffolk III. Spencer Ruthkowski carded a 38, James Alden added a 39, and Jack Kaufman shot a 40 for Northport.

Garden City 7, Oceanside 2: Charlie Schmitt shot a 2-over 37 at Garden City CC for Garden City (6-2) in Nassau IV. Oceanside is 7-1.


Jericho 7, Mepham 0: Tanish Tilak beat Sammi Atiq, 21-6, 21-3, at third singles for Jericho (4-1) in Nassau I.


South Side 3, Floral Park 2: Kiersten Colvin tallied 14 kills and six aces, Stephanie Jackson recorded 14 digs and 14 kills and Kayla O’Rourke added 21 digs to lead South Side (8-1) to a 25-22, 24-26, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18 win in Nassau A-I.

Wantagh 3, Carey 0: Christina Weir had 11 digs, Abigail Cullen had nine kills and Grace Riddle had six aces, six kills and six digs to lead Wantagh (8-1) in a 25-8, 25-23, 25-12 Nassau A-I win.


Northport 3, Smithtown East 1: Ben Sandt had 27 assists and eight digs, and Chris Parker added 22 kills and 11 digs for Northport (5-2) in a 25-21, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21 Suffolk I win.


Patchogue-Medford 4, Longwood 3: Shelby Kucera defeated Isha Kaur, 6-3, 7-5, in the clinching match for Patchogue-Medford (6-3) in Suffolk V.

Wantagh 4, Farmingdale 3: Samantha Kerrigan defeated Annakate Dixon, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1, in the clinching match at third singles for Wantagh (8-1) in Nassau III-A.

Massapequa 4, MacArthur 3: Kaitlyn Brown and Caroline Bergin defeated Ilana Ger and Nichel Fleming, 6-3, 6-4, in fourth doubles for Massapequa (9-0) in Nassau III-B.
