Julianna Beall and Isha Gupta defeated Christina Maugeri and Kelly Yoo, 21-14, 21-15, at second doubles for Port Washington in a 5-2 win at No. 1 Jericho Wednesday in the Nassau girls badminton semifinals. Fifth-seeded Port Washington (13-1) will play Calhoun for the county title at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Bellmore JFK. Jericho is 11-2.

Calhoun 6, Great Neck South 1: Tessa Patti defeated Haiyin Tang, 21-12, 18-21, 21-18, at second singles for No. 2 Calhoun (12-2). No. 3 South is 10-4.


Manhasset 16, Bellmore JFK 6: John Tompkins scored a career-high four goals with one assist for No. BII-1 Manhasset (15-1), which had 13 goal scorers, in the first round of the Nassau Class B playoffs. Senior David Lawrence scored his first varsity goal. Manhasset will play the winner of No. BI-4 Carey and No. BII-5 Plainedge at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Hofstra in the quarterfinals. Andrew Brancato scored three goals and Patrick Grillo made 10 saves for No. BI-8 Bellmore JFK (6-10).


Long Island Lutheran 11, Portledge 10: Diedre Hocevar scored the winner on an assist from Danielle Sinacori with 1:15 left in double overtime for Long Island Lutheran (7-0) in IPPSAL. Ceci Mulry tied it at 10 with six seconds left in regulation for Portledge. Dina Homayuni made 10 saves for Lutheran, while Hocevar and Carolyn Dottino each scored four goals.


Eastport-South Manor 2, Deer Park 1: Mat Annunziata singled in Mike Flynn with the winning run with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the eighth for ESM (14-3) in League V. Dave Griffiths hit a solo homer in the seventh to tie it at 1. Joe Palmeri went seven innings, allowing one earned run on four hits and two walks, with eight strikeouts. Deer Park is 10-7.

East Hampton 2, Miller Place 1: Maykell Guzman's single to left drove in brother Deilyn with the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh for East Hampton (10-7), which clinched its first playoff berth since 2007, in League VI. Maykell Guzman's RBI walk in the third tied the game at 1. He also threw a two-hitter, allowing one run, with nine strikeouts and six walks. Miller Place is 8-9.


Herricks 5, Roslyn 2: Posha Shopouri and Ben Pleat defeated Eric Ross and Brett Edelblum, 6-0, 6-3, at first doubles for No. 3 Herricks (9-4) in the Conference I-B semifinals. Herricks plays at No. 1 Cold Spring Harbor at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the final. No. 2 Roslyn finished 9-4.
