John Schefer's two-out single drove in Quinn Ronan in the bottom of the seventh to lead No. 1 Glenn over No. 5 Shoreham-Wading River, 1-0, in Game 1 of its best-of-three Suffolk A baseball semifinal. Ronan had a pinch hit single before stealing second and coming around on Schefer's hit. Tyler Arella threw a seven-hitter with five strikeouts for Glenn (17-4). Game 2 is Saturday at noon at Shoreham-Wading River.

Comsewogue 3, Bayport-Blue Point 2: Dan Colasanto's RBI single scored John Braun in the bottom of the eighth to lead No. 2 Comsewogue (18-3) over No. 3 Bayport-Blue Point in Game 1 of a best-of-three Suffolk Class A semifinal. Colasanto allowed one earned run in a complete game. BBP hosts Game 2 today at noon.

Manhasset 10, Floral Park 9: Joe Enea's RBI single scored Matt Catalfo to give No. 13 Manhasset (15-8) a 10-8 lead in the top of the seventh in its Nassau A fifth-round win over No. 5 Floral Park. Robert Giovanelli pitched the final three innings and struck out the final batter with the tying run on second. Manhasset will play Division in the best-of-three semifinal beginning Monday.

GIRLS LACROSSEMiddle Country 12, Smithtown West 11: Amanda Masullo scored on an assist from Nikki Ortega with 18 seconds remaining to lead No. 1 Middle Country (18-0) over No. 5 Smithtown West in a Suffolk A semifinal. Jamie Ortega had four goals. Middle Country will play West Islip on Tuesday.

SOFTBALLIslip 8, Mt. Sinai 6: Olivia Verderosa hit a grand slam to put No. 4 Islip (16-4) ahead 6-4 in a Suffolk A semifinal win over No. 1 Mt. Sinai. Alexis Freudenberg was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Islip will play the Shoreham-Wading River/Sayville winner on Tuesday.
