Pike's perfect relief helps Southampton baseball win

Chris Pike pitched four perfect innings in relief with 12 strikeouts to get the win as Southampton defeated East Hampton, 2-0, Thursday in non-league baseball. Ricky Wesnofske pitched the first three innings and allowed one hit, one walk and struck out six. Jeb Schmidt hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the sixth.

Westbury 10, Uniondale 9: Ralph Davis got the final out on a strikeout with the bases loaded and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Westbury (1-0) in non-league.

New Hyde Park 13, Great Neck North 4: Christopher Kelly, Michael Casio and Kevin Caldis each had two hits and Caldis had a home run for New Hyde Park in non-league. Adam Goltche and Michael Melita also hit home runs for Great Neck North.Riverhead 5, Sachem East 3: Mike Napoli pitched the final four innings for Riverhead and allowed one unearned run, no hits and struck out six to get the win in non-league. Steve Kimmelman went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win.

Sachem East 4, Mount Sinai 3:Aditya Ramesh rallied from a 5-0 deficit in the third set to defeat John Reilly, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, in the clinching fourth singles match to lead Sachem East.Ward Melville 4, Bayport-Blue Point 3: Christian Flamman and Anton Everin beat Brandon Tirelli and Brendan Leiz, 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), in first doubles to lead Ward Melville.

Garden City 3, Uniondale 2: Ryan Gallant had 12 kills, 11 assists and five aces, Jack Mara had six kills, eight aces and eight digs and Brandon Badgett added seven kills and 10 digs to lead Garden City to a 25-19, 17-25, 25-23, 25-27, 25-18 win in non-league.West Hempstead 3, Herricks 2: Scott Libby had 11 kills and eight blocks and Ben Abelido had 25 assists and seven aces for West Hempstead in a 22-25, 25-12, 25-15, 16-25, 25-23 win.girls badminton
