Robinson's no-hitter lifts Holy Trinity

Alex Robinson tossed a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lift Holy Trinity to a 2-0 win over St. Anthony's Wednesday in CHSAA baseball.

The junior lost his bid for a perfect game after hitting the leadoff batter in the top of the seventh. Robinson walked the next batter but struck out the side after that. According to coach Bob Malandro, it's the first Holy Trinity no-hitter since 1997.

Jack Parenty was 2-for-2, Joey DeVito had an RBI single to open the scoring in the third and Peter Sacco had a run-scoring double in the sixth.

Floyd 7, Brentwood 0: Cameron Sorgie threw a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and one walk for Floyd in Suffolk League I. Chris Russo and Jonathan Martinez had two RBIs and Anthony Mondi had three doubles in the win.

Deer Park 6, Islip 5: Lenny Baldassare's triple scored Argenis Guerra in the top of the eighth inning to give Deer Park a 6-3 lead in League V. Ronnie Bylicki's double drove in Niko Artale to make it 4-3 earlier in the inning. Joe Paparella went 3-for-4. Tyler Murphy's two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth tied the score at 3 for Islip. R.J. Going's two-run shot made it 6-5.

East Hampton 3, Shoreham-Wading River 0: Dylan Carrozo pitched a one-hitter with two strikeouts for East Hampton in League VI. Carrozo's only hit surrendered was a single in the fourth. He had an RBI single in the fourth to make it 1-0. Michael Abreu went 2-for-3 with a double and a solo home run in the seventh and Deilyn Guzman went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Bonackers.

Division 8, Jericho 6: Rob McNamara's three-run homer in the third gave Division a 5-2 lead in Conference A-II. J.J. Kissane went 2-for-3 with two runs and Mike Roestenberg struck out five in 5 1/3 innings.

Lawrence Woodmere 3, Martin Luther 0: Jakob Cayne struck out 15 and walked two in a two-hitter and Michael Grassberg's two-run double in the sixth inning gave LWA a 3-0 lead in PSAA.
