25 girls bowlers to watch in 2018-19

Sari Arrow, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK, Sr.: Arrow averaged 167.03 last season and has been a member of the varsity team since seventh grade.

Canan Bademci, Patchogue-Medford, Fr.: The freshman bowled a 204.27 as an eighth-grader and registered a high-game of 267.

Jennilee Barayuga, St. Dominic, Sr.: Barayuga averaged 143 last year, leading St. Dominic.

Julia Bocamazo, East Islip, Sr.: Bocamazo ranked second in Suffolk average last year with a 222.28 and was a member of the state champion Section XI All-Star team.

Sarah Chung, Port Washington, Sr.: Chung was a member of the Nassau All-Star team that went to Syracuse last season, averaging 171.08. Port Washington finished third in the county tournament.

Paige Donovan, Seaford, Jr.: Donovan ranked second in Nassau last season with a 188.39 average. She helped Seaford win its first Nassau small school championship.

Taylor Eggert, Smithtown/Kings Park, Sr.: Eggert, who attends Kings Park, is motivated to become a Section XI All-Star again after helping the team win the state title last year. She averaged 219.17 last season.

Gianna Guido, Patchogue-Medford, Soph.: As a freshman, Guido finished with a 209.8 average, including a high-game of 279.

Rachel Hines, Longwood, Soph.: As a freshman, Hines recorded a 219.93 average and was a member of the state champion Section XI All-Star team.

Daisha Howard, Kellenberg, Jr.: Howard, who averaged 169.24, rolled a high series of 630 in a match last season. Kellenberg won the CHSAA title two years in a row.

Jenna Lehrer, Commack, Jr.: Lehrer averaged a 213 as a sophomore.

Joyce Lin, Port Washington, Sr.: Lin, who averaged 171.88 last season, was a member of the Nassau All-Star team that went to Syracuse along with teammate Sarah Chung. Port Washington finished third in the county team tournament.

Samantha Lipson, Hewlett, Soph.: Lipson averaged a 161.81 as a freshman last season.

Hannah Manetta, Comsewogue, Sr.: Manetta, who averaged 216.73 last season, was one of six members of the state champion Section XI All-Star team.

Gianna Manzo, St. John the Baptist, Sr.: The St. John the Baptist team captain bowled a high-game of 236 last season, with a 154 average.

Natalie Mavrich, East Islip, Soph.: She averaged a 198.72 last season. Mavrich has two older sisters who both bowled for East Islip.

Jenny Murphy, East Islip, Sr.: Murphy was a member of the East Islip team that placed second in the county team tournament last year. She averaged 206.36.

Amanda Naujokas, Sachem, Jr.: Naujokas rolled a 221.74 for third-best average in Suffolk. She notched a high series of 746 and was a state champion Section XI All-Star.

Jessica Pinelli, Eastport-South Manor, Fr.: Pinelli registered a 198.1 average, and had a 750 high series as an eighth-grader.

Anna Polcini, Connetquot, Jr.: Without a girls team, Polcini competes on the boys team and averaged a team-high 212.81 as a sophomore,

Kellie Sandas, Kellenberg, Soph.: Sandas was a newcomer and key component last season on the Firebirds’ CHSAA championship team with a 166 average.

Amanda Scarfogliero, Middle Country, Sr.: Newfield’s Scarfogliero bowled a 256 in Game 6 of the team’s Suffolk Championship victory. She averaged 207.27 last season and was a member of the state champion Middle Country team.

Hannah Skalacki, Middle Country, Soph.: Skalacki, from Newfield, was last year’s Newsday Girls Bowler of the Year. She led Long Island with a 223.37 average as a freshman and contributed to Middle Country’s state championship title.

Allison Sliwinski, Kellenberg, Jr.: Sliwinski averaged 160 last season and contributed toward Kellenberg’s second consecutive CHSAA title.

Julianna Spina, East Islip, Sr.: Spina rolled a 218.1 last season and was a member of the state champion Section XI All-Star team.
