Roundup: Ernst helps East Islip roll over West Babylon

Tara Ernst rolled a 247 in Game 3 of a 697 series for East Islip, which amassed a 3,326 total wood, in a 3-0 win over West Babylon in Suffolk League I girls bowling yesterday. That mark is the best in the county this year according to coach Harold Cooley. East Islip won by scores of 1,106-760, 1,097-764, 1,123-802. Nikki Wilson shot a 236 in Game 1 of a 681 series, Kelsey Fryer rolled a 243 in Game 1 of a 657 series, and senior Danielle Sheridan came in for Game 3 and shot a 226 in her final league match.

Middle Country 3, Longwood 0: Eva Bardun shot a 209 in Game 1 of a 619 series for Middle Country, which capped an undefeated season (16-0), with an 1,013-903, 992-950, 1,009-1,002 win in League II. Nikki DeSimone rolled a high game of 233, while Kristen Kingsepp shot a 633 series for Longwood.boys bowling

Islip 3, Bayport-Blue Point 0:James Rosa shot a 246 in Game 1 of a 569 series and Larry Melton rolled a 211 in Game 2 of a 586 series for Islip (12-2), which clinched the League IV title with a 908-857, 922-817, 807-801 win. It is Islip's first league title in program history, according to coach Mike Pace.

North Babylon 2, Bay Shore 1: Darren McGarrity rolled a 268 in Game 3 of a 714 series for North Babylon in a 942-874, 953-884, 888-926 win in League I.

Sachem North 3, Northport 0: Evan Kantor shot a 267 in Game 3 of a 723 series and Tim Starks rolled a 257 in Game 1 of a 727 series to lead Sachem North in an 1,095-781, 1,067-872, 1,039-895 win in League II.

Boys swimming

Huntington 93.5, Hauppauge 84.5: Jake Goldstein won the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.32) and the 100 free (50.89) for Huntington (4-3) in League II.
