Lawrence Woodmere's Aidan Igiehon has been recruited by almost all the top college basketball programs across the country. On Friday, the 6-10 blue-chipper will pick the one he will make his next home.
Igiehon pared the list of schools he is considering a couple times over the summer and has four finalists: Kentucky, Louisville, St. John’s and Oregon, the school said. Lawrence Woodmerel has scheduled a news conference for Friday at noon where he will reveal his choice.
Wanting to face top competition, Igiehon moved from Dublin, Ireland, to the New York area to enroll at Lawrence Woodmere. He has developed into one of the top fifty recruits nationally, according to several services that produce such rankings. ESPN, for example, rates him at No. 36 overall and at No. 8 among power forwards.
He averaged 18 points and 15 rebounds this past season as the Tigers won the NYSAIS Class B championship and reached the state Federation semifinals.
