Barker (22 points) leads LWA boys in quarterfinal victory

Cantrell Barker scored 22 points as host Lawrence Woodmere Academy defeated Dwight Academy (Manhattan), 45-36, last night to advance to the NYSAIS Tournament Class B boys basketball semifinals.

Barker shot 3-for-6 from three-point range in the first quarter. Collick Holden had eight points and 15 rebounds for fourth-seeded LWA (26-1).

"Dwight Academy was undefeated in their league with a 16-0 record," LWA coach Jeff Weiss said. "We played them during the season and it was competitive, but everyone played hard with intensity again today to get the win."

LWA will play at 5 p.m. Saturday against top seed and defending Federation champion Collegiate School (Manhattan) at Trinity School in Manhattan.
