BOYS BASKETBALLHagigal's 12-foot jumper beat the buzzer in a 58-56 win over Harborfields to claim the Long Island Class A championship. He finished with 33 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL Playmaker scored 19 points and made countless key plays on offense and defense in a win over Uniondale for the Long Island Class AA title game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL Mailings scored a season-high 14 points in a 57-51 win over Harborfields in the Long Island Class A championship.

BOYS BASKETBALL Controlled the boards and took away the inside game of Uniondale to help the Colts win the school's first Long Island Class AA title. He had 19 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks.

GIRLS BASKETBALL Kelly had 13 points and 18 rebounds in the quarterfinals, 14 points and 14 rebounds in the semifinals and four points and 10 rebounds as the Friars won the CHSAA A state championship.

GIRLS BASKETBALL Higgins had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the quarterfinals, 21 points in the semifinals and 24 points in the CHSAA Class B state final.

GIRLS TRACK Lipari won the national mile title in 4:42.64 at the Nike Indoor Nationals in Boston.
