There's Tobias Harris, of course. And brother Tyler, also a starter for Half Hollow Hills West. And brother Terry, a JV player as a freshman. And their father, the omnipresent Torrel. Then there's talented transfer Tavon Sledge. "Too many T's," coach Bill Mitaritonna joked.
So when he felt phonetically challenged one day in practice, shouting directions to his point guard, Mitaritonna decided, "I'll just call him Sledge."
It's another hammer in the Colts' toolbox. "He's the most athletic guard I've ever seen in high school basketball," Mitaritonna said. "He's the quickest; he's got the best vertical leap I've ever seen. Defensively, he's going to be a nasty player to go against."
In other words, Tavon is a letter-perfect fit.
