**FINAL**: Hills West's season is over after losing a 69-65 decision to Mount Vernon.

Khalid Samuels, who led the Knights with 16 points, knocked down two free throws with 1:04 remaining to give Mount Vernon a 65-57 lead.

Blackman led Hills West with 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Sledge had 18 points and 10 assists. Hinds finished with 10 points for Mount Vernon.

The Knights will play Jamestown (Sec. VI) at 3:15 p.m. tomorrow in the final.

Stay tuned for the Class C final between Friends Academy (16-4) and Syracuse Academy of Science (22-2).

**UPDATE**: After three quarters, we're tied at 49.

Hills cut the lead to 38-36 on an ally-oop by Blackman from Sledge and then had a 7-0 run to close the quarter, including a Sledge three and an assist to Blackman to tie the game at 49.

Blackman leads the Colts with 17 points and Sledge has 15 (with a handful of assists).

We're in for a great fourth quarter.

**UPDATE**: At the half, Mount Vernon leads 36-26.

A 12-1 run, culminating with Khalid Samuels' layup in transition, gave the Knights a 28-20 lead with 2:52 left in the half. Samuels leads Mount Vernon with nine points (all in the second quarter).

Hinds sat the entire second quarter with two fouls, but it didn't matter. Thus far, nine Knights have found the scoring sheet.

Emile Blackman leads Hills with nine points. Chris Cox has seven and Sledge six.

Hills has seven turnovers.

**UPDATE**: After one quarter, Hills West has a 13-11 lead. Sledge and Cox each have four points, while Jarrel Marshall has five for Mount Vernon.

Hinds, who has two points, picked up his second foul with 20.1 seconds left in the quarter and is on the bench to start the second.

Sledge and Hinds have been guarding each other.

We're here live at the Glens Falls Civic Center, as Tavon Sledge (pictured above) leads Half Hollow Hills West (18-5) against Mount Vernon (19-5) of Section I in this afternoon's Class AA semifinal.

The Colts are coming off a thrilling double-overtime win over Elmont last Sunday, in which Sledge scored a Long Island championship game record 46 points.

Mount Vernon is led by West Virginia-bound guard Jabarie Hinds.
