Roundup: Jones' 31 lead Wyandanch over C. Moriches

Senior Qualice Jones scored 10 of his career-high 31 points in the fourth quarter for Wyandanch in a 73-58 League VII win over Center Moriches Wednesday.

Wyandanch (6-2, 6-0), which ran away with a 26-13 fourth quarter, handed Center Moriches (5-4, 5-1) its first league loss of the season and took sole possession of first place. Jon Ward-Adams had 25 points for Center Moriches.

Senior Will Hart scored eight of his 10 points in the fourth and had a career-high 18 rebounds. Alexander Williams chipped in 13 points and 13 rebounds for Wyandanch.

Pierson 51, Smithtown Christian 41: Tyler Gilbride scored five of his 14 points during a 15-5 fourth quarter for Pierson (1-5) in League VIII. Sam Miller went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the fourth, while Luke Kirrane added 11 points for Pierson.

Valley Stream Central 77, Hempstead 70: Senior Marc Augustin scored a career-high 37 points and had 14 rebounds for Valley Stream Central (4-2) in Nassau Conference AA-I. Jerry Mordi added 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Farmingdale 38, Carey 36: Dalique Mingo had 13 assists and scored 11 of his 19 points during a 17-12 fourth quarter for Farmingdale (2-4) in Conference AA-I.

Seaford 50, Bethpage 45: Robert Goldstein had 16 points, Matt Faso had 15 and Bill Kempner had 15 rebounds for Seaford (1-2) in Conference ABC-IV. Kyle Tracy had 24 points for Bethpage.

Floral Park 52, Lynbrook 47: Kenny Quinn hit a layup 30 seconds into overtime to give Floral Park (3-6) a 43-41 lead in non-league. Quinn (10 points) hit a three-pointer with five seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 41 and force overtime. Shamoy McIntosh had 22 points for Floral Park. Matt Patick had 26 points for Lynbrook.

Portledge 58, Solomon Schechter 43: Christian Sbarra had 23 points, nine rebounds and six assists to lead Portledge (4-4) in IPPSAL. Mark Dourmashkin added 15 points, five assists and five rebounds and Ben Shapiro had 10 points. David Mendelowitz scored 14 points for Solomon Schechter.

Lawrence Woodmere Academy 75, Our Savior Lutheran 53: Holden Collick had 22 points and 17 rebounds and Guilherme Brodt added 11 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks as LWA improved to 3-0 in PSAA.
