Yacoubou scores 21 points to spark LI Lutheran

Achraf Yacoubou scored eight of his game-high 21 points in a 22-11 fourth quarter, including a three-pointer with 4:14 left to put Long Island Lutheran (ahead for good in a 64-58 win over Curtis (20-3) Monday in non-league boys basketball. Yacoubou and Terry Brutus each had 10 rebounds and Hart Gliedman had 20 points and eight rebounds for Lutheran (12-3).Kew Forest 68, Lake Grove 54: Ben Arabov scored 21 points and Anthony Lenti and Dane Pierre each added 14 points for Kew Forest (9-2) in IPPSAL. Khalief Young led Lake Grove (4-6) with 25 points.

BOYS BOWLING

Longwood 3, Sachem 0: Matt Dobbins shot a 277 in Game 3 of a 723 series and Jeremy Milito shot 259 in Game 3 of a 708 series with a clean 30 to lead Longwood to a 1,096-1,056, 1,091-1,016, 1,112-1,059 win.

Smithtown 3, Whitman 0: Adam Shapiro rolled a 266 in Game 3 of a 654 series for Smithtown in a 906-744, 938-776, 1,058-866 victory.

GIRLS BOWLING

Islip 3, West Islip 0: Vickie Trezise had a 227 in Game 2 of a 624 series for Islip in a 881-605, 1,032-633, 949-561 win. Lori Greenblatt added a 227 in Game 3.

North Babylon 3, Northport 0: Abigail Casale rolled a 255 in Game 2 of a 648 series and Valerie Thomas had a 211 in Game 2 of a 514 series for North Babylon in an 847-755, 915-774, 827-703 win.
