Begley's two goals in 4th spark East Islip

Tyler Begley scored the tying and eventual winning goals for East Islip in an 11-9 win at Bay Shore Tuesday in Division I boys lacrosse.

Begley put East Islip (7-4) up 10-9 with 11:15 left in the fourth quarter on an assist from Tom O'Neill. He tied it at 9 on an assist from Bryan Maddock with 11:49 to play. Maddock, a senior, had a career-high five goals with one assist, and Kevin Hutchinson had two goals and three assists. Lucas Rock led Bay Shore (7-4) with two goals and one assist.

Whitman 15, Smithtown East 13: Myles Jones scored three of his five goals in a 7-5 second quarter for Whitman (5-6). He also had four assists. Mike Chimenti had four goals and an assist, Kevin Teresky three goals and two assists, and Daniel Friedman made 14 saves. Ryan Desimone led Smithtown East (5-6) with four goals and three assists.

North Babylon 14, Middle Country 4: Ryan Slane had four goals and four assists, and Connor Slane four goals and one assist for North Babylon (9-3). Matt Beccaris had two goals and three assists, and Alex Lopez made 12 saves. Ryan Weldon made 10 saves for Middle Country (7-5).

Sachem North 18, Lindenhurst 9: Brandon Gamblin had four goals and one assist for Sachem North (8-3). Dalton Crossan added three goals and two assists, and junior Kyle Rhatigan a career-high four points (three goals). Chris Caiazza led Lindenhurst (7-5) with two goals and an assist.

Garden City 10, South Side 1: Devin Dwyer had three goals and two assists for Garden City (6-0) in Conference B-I. Tom Gordon added two goals and two assists. South Side is 4-2.

Sewanhaka 5, Malverne-East Rockaway 2: Michael Koc scored three goals and Will Pokorny made 19 saves for Sewanhaka (4-2) in Conference B-II. William Dey made 11 saves for Malverne-East Rockaway (0-6).


Half Hollow Hills 11, West Islip 9: Jackie DiMaria scored with 6:22 left to give Half Hollow Hills (9-3) a 10-7 lead in Division I. Julia DiMaria and Ariel O'Shea each scored three goals, Jackie DiMaria two, and Jillian Rocco made 12 saves. Erin Byrnes led West Islip (9-3) with three goals.

Hauppauge 16, Harborfields 13: Jennifer Porretto had six goals and five assists for Hauppauge (12-0) in Division II. Taylor Ranftle had four goals and two assists, and Lauren Descalzo two goals. Bridget Greene led Harborfields (8-4) with five goals.

Bayport-Blue Point 19, Huntington 12: Senior Loren Generi tied her career high with seven goals for Bayport-Blue Point (8-4). Genevieve Stickney had four goals and one assist, and Rachel O'Brien a goal and four assists. Hannah Burnett led Huntington (8-4) with five goals.

Sayville 21, Kings Park 15: Emily Maier scored five goals with one assist for Sayville (9-2), which set its season high for goals. Mia Bonacore had four goals and an assist. Natalie Silvers led Kings Park (4-8) with six goals and two assists.

Long Beach 15, MacArthur 7: Emily McLoughlin scored six goals for Long Beach (7-0) in Conference A-II. Mollie Medrano and Liz Rourke each had three goals, and Jillian Piazza four assists. Elyse Stark made 15 saves. Kristina Coiro and Jessica Gattus each scored two goals for MacArthur (5-2).

Garden City 16, Wantagh 9: Alexandra Bruno scored four goals and had one assist for Garden City (6-0) in Conference B-I. Jenna Fuchs had three goals and two assists, and Mikaela Rix and Barbara Sullivan each had three goals and an assist. Paula Schmidt led Wantagh (5-1) with four goals.

Great Neck North 16, Great Neck South 15: Junior Rae Berger scored the winner, her career-high eighth goal, with 15.5 seconds left for Great Neck North (3-5). Berger also had two assists. Dara Giglio, who had three goals and one assist, tied the score at 15 for Great Neck North with 3:13 to play. Jamie Fishkin and Samantha Rickey each scored three goals for Great Neck South (3-5).


St. Anthony's 6, Holy Trinity 1: Chris Conroy shot 1-under-par 34 on the front nine at Huntington Country Club for St. Anthony's (10-0) in CHSAA.

Jericho 6, Great Neck South 3: Jake Spector shot 1-over 36 on the front nine at Lake Success Country Club for Jericho (8-1) in Conference II.

Hauppauge 8, Comsewogue 1: T.J. Fallon shot 1-over 35 on the front nine at Wind Watch for Hauppauge (5-6) in League II.
