Moroney goal lifts Manhasset

Quinn Moroney scored the winner off a feed from Ryan Matthews with 2:56 left to lift host Manhasset to a 3-2 win over Chaminade Saturday night in a non-league boys lacrosse game.

Walter Rooney scored with 15 seconds left in the first quarter to give Chaminade a 1-0 lead. Matt Tompkins and John Thomas scored in the second and third quarters to put Manhasset (11-1) up, 2-1, one minute into the third. Chaminade's Brendan DeTommaso scored off a pass from Matt Kavanaugh with 1:42 left in the third to tie the score at 2. Manhasset's Frank Morelli had nine saves and John Connors made eight stops for the Flyers.

Locust Valley 14, Clarke 1: Chris Appell had four goals and four assists, Phil Merenda had four goals and two assists, and John Keschl had three goals to lead Locust Valley (2-3) in a Conference C game.

Massapequa 11, John Jay 5: Dylan Sheehan had three goals and two assists, Jamie Shand had six assists and Ian Lukaszewicz and Luke Pellizzi each had three goals to lead Massapequa (10-3).

North Babylon 10, Riverhead 8: Gary Meigel scored his third goal with 5:28 left to break a tie at 7 and lead North Babylon (8-3) in a Class A matchup. Ryan Slane had two goals and three assists in the win.

Port Washington 12, North Shore 5: Senior goalie Marco Rystic made a career-high 19 saves and Jake Froccaro had five goals and one assist to lead Port Washington (7-6) in a non-league game. Jake Venditto had four goals and one assist for North Shore.

Roslyn 13, Calhoun 4: Evan Friedlander scored four goals and Pat Woods had three goals and two assists for Roslyn (7-4) in a non-league game.

Valley Stream Central 10, Herricks 8: Greg Jurscack scored with nine minutes left to give Valley Stream Central a 9-8 lead in a Conference A game. Henry Waslo scored his sixth goal of the game with two minutes left to provide the final margin.

Wantagh 18, Hicksville 6: Matt Balzano and James Bonanno each had three goals and one assist to lead Wantagh (9-3) in a non-league game.
