Jericho boys soccer states updates

Jericho looks for its 10th consecutive win and a state championship finals berth as the Jayhawks take on East Syracuse-Minoa in a state Class A semifinal at Middletown High School.

Jericho (14-2-2) scored just 4:05 into the game. Glenn Hyams played a ball to the left side to Jake Falk and he sent a cross to Derek Medolla, who scored for the Jayhawks. They continued to dominate after the goal with a shot in front going over the net.

An indirect kick was blocked by the Spartans. The Jayhawks are flying right now.

Jericho is clearly outplaying its opponent. Another terrific pass from Falk on a cross and this time Jon Amodio converts for a goal with 9:39 left in the first half. Jericho leads, 2-0.

HALFTIME: JERICHO 2, EAST SYRACUSE-MINOA 0

The second half has started. Not muching going on so far. We're 12 minutes in and the Jayhawks continue to lead 2-0.

Jericho goalkeeper Ari Lewis has intercepted a couple of corner kicks. East Syracuse-Minoa just can't get good scoring opportunities. Jericho leads 2-0 with 18 minutes left.

Jericho almost made it a three-goal lead. Casey Sullivan made his eighth save to keep it 2-0. There is 16 minutes left.

David Orr scored with 5:05 left and Jericho leads 3-0.

Jericho wins 3-0 and will play Maine-Endwell at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the finals.
