2010 All-Long Island girls cross country

Mary Kate Anselmini

Ward Melville, Jr.

Anselmini won the St. Anthony’s Invitational, and took third at the Bob Pratt Invitational, fourth at the Suffolk Division Championships and first in the Suffolk state qualifier Class AA race.

Brigid Brennan

Northport, ninth grade

Brennan took second at the Suffolk State Class AA qualifier, third overall at the Suffolk Division championships, third at the St. Anthony’s Invitational and fifth at the Suffolk Coaches Invitational.

Anne Carey

St. John the Baptist, Sr.

Carey started her cross country season strong with a first-place finish at the Jim Smith Invitational and finished strong, 10th at the Nike Cross Nationals championship race. In between, she finished third at the NSCHSAA League championship, second at the CHSAA Intersectional and eighth at the Federation championships.

Samantha Nadel

North Shore, Jr.

Nadel helped lead one the state’s best teams in North Shore to a Class A title with an eighth-place finish at the Nike Cross Nationals New York regional and 11th place at the Nike Cross Nationals championship. She was ninth at the Federation and seventh at the NYSPHSAA Class A championships.

Colleen Schmidt

Holy Trinity, Sr.

Schmidt continued her excellent career with victories at the CHSAA Intersectional championship and the NSCHSAA League championships. She was seventh at the Federation championships — best among all Long Island runners.
