Roundup: Mackay wins in school record time for Kellenberg

Junior Kim Mackay took first in a 2.5-mile race at Sunken Meadow State Park in a school-record time of 15:44 as Kellenberg topped St. Anthony's, 24-32, Wednesday in a CHSAA girls cross country meet. Mackay's mark broke the previous school record of 15:48 set by Kelsey Malmquist in 2005.

Kellenberg's Kylie Pearse came in second in 16:09 and St. Anthony's Veronica Leddy finished third in 16:20.

St. John the Baptist 15, Our Lady of Mercy 48, St. Dominic 50: Krystal Foster took first in 16:36 and teammate Catherine Westby was second as St. John the Baptist won its 43rd straight dual meet and sixth straight Nassau/Suffolk CHSAA dual-meet title.

GIRLS TENNIS

East Islip 4, West Islip 3: Seventh-grader Karen Serina remained undefeated as she topped Sam Sienkicwicz, 6-0, 6-0, in first singles to lead East Islip (8-2) in Suffolk League III.

Serina has yet to drop a set. Devin Tracy and Monica Lobo defeated Kerri Coughlin and Brianna Frane, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, in the clinching first doubles match.

Port Jefferson 6, Comsewogue 1: Elisha Goldstein and Anisha Kolupoti defeated Kim Bishop and Laura Loy in third doubles, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5, as Port Jefferson (11-1 League VI) won its first league championship in 17 years.

Sewanhaka District 5, Mepham 2: Katelyn O'Donnell and Sarah McGurren beat Rachel Gordon and Tess Larsen, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3), in third doubles as Sewanhaka District (14-0) clinched the Conference III-B title.

Port Washington 4, Jericho 3: Olga Kosheva and Liz Kallenberg defeated Sarah Goldstein and Robin Kae, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (9-7), in fourth doubles to decide the match for Port Washington (7-5) in Conference I.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Garden City 3, Hicksville 2: Jackie Seskin had 19 assists and four aces, Joanna Matuza had 14 assists and four aces, Michelle Finneran had nine kills and three blocks, Casey O'Hanlon had 15 digs and two aces and Noelle Byrne had eight kills to lead Garden City (4-6) to a 22-25, 26-24, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22 victory in Conference II.

Patchogue-Medford 3, West Babylon 2: Amanda Dill had 18 kills for Patchogue-Medford (4-8) in a 25-16, 25-18, 22-25, 31-33, 25-15 non-league win.
