Cust leads Uniondale to double-OT victory

Aaron Cust had 24 points as Uniondale overcame a late deficit yesterday and held off Bay Shore, 66-63, in a double-overtime boys basketball game.

Jerel McGary added 15 points and Imran Ritchie chipped in nine points and seven assists for Uniondale, which hit seven of eight free throws in the second overtime to seal the win. Tahreek Hodge hit a three as time expired in the extra session to force a second overtime for Uniondale.

Bay Shore's Bryson Lassiter (15 points) hit a three to tie score at 50 as time expired in regulation. Bethpage 50, Friends Academy 44: Mohid Farhadi and Troy Hill each hit a late three during a 17-10 fourth quarter to lift Bethpage in a Bethpage Dad's Club Tournament semifinal. Greg Gerber had 24 points for Bethpage, which plays Hicksville in the final Friday at 4 p.m.

Holy Trinity 77, Paramus Catholic 74: Damon Coleman (17 points) hit a jumper and two free throws in the final 40 seconds to lift Holy Trinity in the Monsignor Kelly Tournament. Isiah Rowe had 25 points and 12 rebounds and Jimmy Golasewski added 17 points in the win.GIRLS BASKETBALLCommack 48, Glenn 35: Erin Storck had 13 points and went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final minute to lift Commack in a Coaches vs. Cancer game at Glenn. Chelsea Schultz added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win. Port Jefferson 46, Newfield 42: Courtney Lewis scored 22 points for Port Jefferson in the first round of the Newfield Holiday Classic.
