Drzal's FTs help seal win for Bayport-Blue Point

Ross Drzal hit two free throws with 22 seconds left to give Bayport-Blue Point (13-1) a four-point lead in a 46-44 victory over Miller Place last night that clinched the Suffolk League VI boys basketball title.

Jack Hepburn followed Drzal's foul shots with a three-pointer to put Miller Place (10-3) within one but BBP's Gary Farley hit a free throw for the final margin. Brian Campbell had 14 points for Miller Place, which finished second in the league.

Longwood 83, Patchogue-Medford 63: Darien Davis had 19 points and Tajric Boggs added 18 to lead Longwood (12-0 League I) to its first undefeated Long Island regular season in boys program history. Patchogue-Medford is 4-8.

Lindenhurst 56, Bay Shore 50: Kamil Parzych scored 18 points and Stu Warren had 12 points and 17 rebounds for Lindenhurst (9-3), which clinched the League II title. Jordan Allen led Bay Shore with 23 points.

Sachem North 52, Whitman 45: John Ford made two free throws with 38 seconds remaining to extend Sachem North's lead to 50-45 in League II. Sachem North (6-6) won five of its last six games and four in a row to clinch a playoff berth. Myles Jones led Whitman (8-4) with 20 points.

Waldorf 52, Kew Forest 48: Landon Twine had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead fourth-seeded Waldorf (10-5) in the IPPSAL semifinals. Waldorf plays No. 2 Portledge in the final at 7 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior New American.
