1. Sachem East (14-0): They sailed in three wins last week. They've proven themselves to be the best team in Suffolk Class A, but this team's true test will be in the playoffs. But, before then, they've got a couple quizes. They finish the regular season with tough games against Smithtown East and Northport.

2. Sayville (15-0): The Golden Flashes are still undefeated, but they've been cutting it close recently. Three of Sayville's last five wins have been one-goal games, including two 2-1 wins last week over Bayport-Blue Point and Babylon.

3. Ward Melville (12-3): This one is weird enough that it bears highlighting. Ward Melville has twice lost to Sachem East, 4-0, and each time they rebound with a one-goal win over Harborfields followed by a convincing win over Newfield, and then another victory over Northport.

4. Smithtown East (12-2): The Bulls had 3-0 wins over Sachem North and Huntington, then squeaked by upstart Harborfields with a win in penalty strokes.

5. Shoreham-Wading River (12-2): After losing their first Division III game on Oct. 14, the Wildcats showed great resolve last week with one-goal wins over Southampton, Rocky Point and Pierson/Bridgehampton.

6. Rocky Point (10-3): The Eagles went 1-1 last week. They beat Greenport/Southold/Shelter Island, 2-0, and then lost, 2-1, to SWR.

7. East Islip (12-3): They dropped one, 3-2, to Bay Shore on Tuesday. But the Redmen came back with wins over Connetquot and West Islip. Not many style points accrued in those games, but they did enough to get it done.

8. Miller Place (8-6): The Panthers had a 2-1 loss to Pierson/Bridgehampton on Monday, but they finished the week up strong, getting quality wins over Comsewogue and Southampton.

9. Bay Shore (11-4): They've won four straight since a 3-2 loss to Sayville. That winning streak includes an credibility-earning 4-3 overtime victory against East Islip.

10. Northport (7-6): The Tigers went 2-1 last week, but Friday's 4-1 loss to Ward Melville hurt their stock in the rankings.

On the cusp: Harborfields, Pierson/Bridgehampton, Southampton
