Brian Kiel's interception return lifts West Babylon

Defensive end Brian Kiel returned an interception 35 yards for the game-winning touchdown with 2:30 left to lift West Babylon (3-4) to a 13-9 win over Newfield (3-4) in Suffolk II.

Kiel also had five tackles, a sack and a pass deflection. Clifton Melhado had 15 carries for 128 yards and Chris Lubin had 11 carries for 41 yards, including a five-yard score in the second quarter. Kevin Riesman had 10 tackles and Michael Siefert had 11 tackles and one sack.

North Babylon 54, Copiague 18: Jordan Myers ran for 202 yards and had TD runs of 64, 75 and 56 yards to lead North Babylon (4-3). Melijiah Purvis rushed for 197 yards and scored three TDs.

Whitman 51, Centereach 24: Joel Aleman had 175 yards and two TDs on 16 carries and Mitchell Bermudez added 121 yards and two TDs on nine carries as Whitman (4-3) gained 419 yards on the ground. Jaron Batts had five carries for 64 yards and TD and Nykwon Harrison added 43 yards and a TD on six carries. Michael Clarke had 12 tackles and Kieran Elmore forced a fumble and had two sacks. Centereach falls to 1-6.

West Islip 55, Half Hollow Hills West 3: Sam Ilario ran for 54 yards and two TDs to lead West Islip (7-0). Five different players scored rushing TDs for West Islip, which totaled 280 yards on the ground. A.J. Ilchert carried the ball seven times for 87 yards and scored on a 51-yard run. Ryan Wieczorek, who had a 24-yard TD on his only carry, returned an interception 106-yards in a 28-point first quarter.

Riverhead 23, Smithtown West 16: Jeremiah Cheatom ran for 256 yards and two TDs, including a 33-yard tackle-breaking run in the fourth after the Bulls closed to within 17-16. He had a 47-yard TD run in the first for Riverhead (5-2). Logan Greco ran for 97 yards and a TD and Austin Kern threw for 142 yards and a TD for Smithtown West (3-4).
