Carey's Ray Catapano passes for 340 yards, 4 TDs

Junior Ray Catapano set a school-record with 340 passing yards and four touchdowns, including the winning 13-yard pass to Andrew Ris with 1:01 remaining to lift Carey to a 34-30 win over New Hyde Park Friday night (2-1) in Nassau II football.

Matt Lucito forced a fumble that Nick Conte recovered to seal the game with 27 seconds left. Senior Matt Robison had 228 all-purpose yards, including a school-record 125 receiving yards. New Hyde Park is 1-2.

Garden City 24, Calhoun 7: Garden City head coach Tom Flatley won his 238th career game, passing Farmingdale's Don Snyder for second place in Long Island history. After a second-quarter interception by Dan Miller put the ball on the Calhoun 43, Garden City quarterback Brett Stewart connected with Ed Blatz, a play that set up a 19-yard touchdown run by Tim McDonagh which gave Garden City a 17-0 halftime lead. Stewart finished with 126 yards passing and two touchdowns to lead Garden City (3-0). Calhoun is 0-3. Elmont 28, Westbury 6: Calvin Aristide had 78 yards on eight carries, including touchdown runs of 18 and 20 yards, and added a 34-yard receiving touchdown to lead Elmont (2-1) over Westbury (1-2). Mike Braun faked a screen pass and connected with Paul Jean down the sideline for a 44-yard touchdown to put Elmont ahead 21-0 midway through the second quarter. On the opening drive of the third quarter, Braun hit Aristide on a screen for a 34-yard touchdown to make it 28-0. Matt Brutus had four sacks in the win. MacArthur 31, Bellmore JFK 7: Tom Kelleher had 172 yards on 25 carries and three TDs to lead MacArthur (2-1). Gerard Cunningham went 8-for-9 for 125 yards and a TD. Dylan Pearce had three catches for 49 yards and a touchdown and Mike Rotondo had three catches for 57 yards. MacArthur totaled 302 yards of offense. Joe Tangredi and Nick Marrero led with nine tackles each. Anthony Mondella and Na'im Al-Quaadir each had a sack. Bellmore JFK is 0-3.

Long Beach 46, Herricks 18: Long Beach's JP Forkin tied a school record with six touchdowns. Forkin racked up 180 yards rushing and 54 yards receiving. Quarterback Adam Salvadori threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns to lead Long Beach (3-0). Herricks is 0-3.

Wantagh 31, Mepham 12: Brandon Watson had five catches for 194 yards and three TDs for Wantagh (3-0). Peter Brasile had 12 tackles and Nick English had seven tackles. Roddy Roche went 10-for-18 for 230 yards. Mike Stack caught the opening eight-yard TD and added a passing touchdown to start the third quarter giving the Warriors a 21-7 lead. Mepham is 1-2.
