Chmil’s TD run lifts Chaminade

Matt Chmil ran in a touchdown with 5:38 remaining in the game and Shane Gallagher grabbed an interception on third and long on Chaminade’s 38-yard line to stop a Holy Cross drive as Chaminade defeated Holy Cross, 21-13, in CHSFL, Saturday.

Chmil connected with Chris Nicholas with 3:42 left in the first half for a 20-yard touchdown to give Chaminade (3-2) a 14-7 lead entering halftime. Chmil threw for 101 yards on 10 of 13 passing. Nicholas caught six passes for 67 yards. Frank Tangredi rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown.

He also caught a pass for 30 yards. James Errante had 12 tackles including three for a loss. Gallagher had six tackles.

Poly Prep 21, Holy Trinity 14: Poly Prep’s Robert Deleon-Kollmer ran a 5-yard touchdown with 1:30 left in the game to break a tie at 14 and lead Poly Prep in non-league. Holy Trinity tied the score early in the fourth quarter on Matt Ragno’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Alex Parciak.
