The 21st Empire Challenge is an All-Star football game between the best high school seniors from Long Island and New York City. All proceeds from the game benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation, the Gunnar H. Esiason Fund at Hofstra, and local youth football programs.
When/where: Tuesday at 7 p.m at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium. FanFest begins at 3:30 p.m., and gates open at 6 p.m. There is free, but limited, parking.
Tickets: Tickets can be purchased through participating athletes for $10 each, though tickets also can be bought at stadium ticket booths on game day for $15 per person.
History: Long Island leads the series 12-6. Nassau and Suffolk split the game’s first two installments in 1996 and 1997. Long Island won last year's game, 34-27.
