Haggart helps Sayville over Westhampton

John Haggart's 20-yard touchdown run in the third overtime lifted Sayville over Westhampton, 34-28, yesterday in Division III.

The Golden Flashes' drive was set up by a missed 37-yard field goal. Haggart finished with 111 yards and two TDs and was 4-for-4 on extra point. His 6-yard TD run tied the score at 14 with 1:03 left in regulation. The teams traded touchdowns in the first two overtimes. Joe DeLuca had nine tackles and 2 1/2 sacks for Sayville (6-1).

Amityville 48, Eastport-South Manor 21: Junior Da'rell Hatcher ran for 151 yards and a career-high four TDs for Amityville (3-4). Ian Brown had kickoff return TDs of 99 and 85 yards and Willie White had four catches for 106 yards and two interceptions.

Islip 28, Kings Park 7: Jeffrey Craig threw for 175 yards and two TDs and ran for 135 yards and another score to lead Islip (7-0). His 52-yard TD to R.J. Going gave Islip a 14-0 lead in the second quarter. Huntington 38, East Hampton 6: Calvin Bollar ran for 125 yards and a TD and had five catches for 80 yards and another score to lead Huntington (5-2). Dan Plant threw for 185 yards and two TDs as the offense totaled 535 yards. Trevon Toney ran for 145 yards and two TDs and had 13 tackles and two sacks.

Miller Place 27, Rocky Point 6: Nick Acevedo ran for 75 yards and two TDs for Miller Place (4-3). He also caught a 34-yard TD from Matt Hinchy, who threw for 75 yards and two scores. Matt Herbst had eight tackles and a sack and Alex Greenidge and Matt Mock each had 10 tackles.

Hauppauge 48, Shoreham-Wading River 0:Mike Ortolani threw for 78 yards and two TDs and ran for 112 yards and two scores for Hauppauge (4-3). Dominic Confredo had three catches for 58 yards and a touchdown.
