Chris Naronis rushed for 202 yards and five touchdowns on 14 carries and completed 8 of 13 passes for 163 yards to lead Floral Park past Division, 43-29, in Nassau Conference III Saturday.
His 29-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter followed by his successful two-point conversion pass to Matt Ollen gave Floral Park (4-3) a 36-29 lead. He later added a 76-yard TD run to put the Knights up two scores.
Chase McLoughlin scored on a 53-yard run to give Floral Park a 28-21 lead, but Chris Stancarone answered for Division on a 1-yard TD run and a successful two-point conversion pass to Bobby Siemsen to give the Blue Dragons a 29-28 lead. Stancarone rushed for two scores and threw for another. Ollen had a key interception that set up Naronis’ fifth TD. Jaysen Chery’s INT later sealed the win. Freshman Rico Loftus was 5-for-5 on extra points. Division fell to 3-4.
Hewlett 33, Lynbrook 14: Mark Winkler ran for 211 yards and a TD, threw a TD pass and returned a fumble 41 yards for a score to lead Hewlett (4-3). He also blocked a field goal and forced a fumble. Evan Greenberg ran for two TDs. Lynbrook is 5-2.
Bethpage 34, Valley Stream North 0: James David caught a 58-yard TD pass from Sean Smith to open the scoring for Bethpage (5-2). Brian Luzzi rushed for two TDs and had a 64-yard pick-6. VSN is 3-4.
Manhasset 44, Bellmore JFK 7: Brothers Will and Matt Cargiulo each scored two TDs to power Manhasset (2-5). Younger brother Matt ran for a 60-yard TD and threw a 52-yard TD pass to Will, who had a 36-yard TD run. He also forced a fumble on the opening kickoff that Aiden Haggerty picked up and ran 20 yards for a score. BJFK is 0-7.
South Side 35, Roosevelt 30: Owen West threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns for South Side (4-3). Brady West and Michael Melkonian each had scoring catches. Jack Lozito, Matt Solano and Michael DiFranscica all had TD runs. Roosevelt fell to 3-4.
Mineola 36, Valley Stream South 21: Tommy Renner caught a 60-yard TD pass from Jack McCormack and added TD runs of 67 and 5 yards to lead Mineola (2-5). Cle-Andre Stewart’s 3 TD runs led VSS (1-6).
