John Giannotti’s 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter capped an impressive 19-play, 99-yard, 10-minute drive for East Rockaway in its 28-7 win over Island Trees in Nassau Conference IV Saturday.

Joseph Bruzzo rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries and had a successful two-point conversion run that put East Rockaway ahead 14-7 in the first quarter.

Aiden Green rushed for 173 yards on 18 carries and a score. Giannotti ran for 60 yards and a score on 13 carries.

His successful two-point run following Green’s touchdown gave the Rocks (3-3) a 22-7 lead. Island Trees fell to 4-2.

Malverne 41, Carle Place/Wheatley 6: Farvens Ulysse completed 9 of 12 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns to lead Malverne.

Jaden Manzanillo caught five passes for 58 yards and a score and Destin McPherson caught a 48-yard touchdown pass. Malverne (4-2) opened the scoring in the second quarter with a safety on a tackle made by Hugh Wilkinson (10 tackles).

Branden McLaughlin led the Mules with three carries for 110 yards and had a 98-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for the final score of the game.

Tyler Rouse had a 24-yard touchdown run and made eight tackles, and Deandre Blagrove had five carries for 41 yards and two touchdowns. Carle Place/Wheatley fell to 2-4.

West Hempstead 40, Locust Valley 0: Cory Pierre carried the ball five times for 98 yards and three touchdowns for West Hempstead.

Pierre scored two touchdowns in the second quarter, the first on a six-yard run, the next on a 49-yard rush.

Alorenz Chatman rushed for 98 yards, two touchdowns, and had an interception on defense.

Mike Abioun recorded 10 tackles and scored a touchdown on a 14-yard run in the first quarter and Timmy Holung added an interception for West Hempstead (3-3). Brendan Close had two sacks and a forced fumble. Locust Valley is 1-5.

Cold Spring Harbor 28, Friends Academy 6: Charles Tauckus rushed for touchdowns of 68, 45 and 1 yard to lead Cold Spring Harbor. He rushed for 195 yards and three scores on eight carries. Caden O’Connor connected with Kyle O’Grady on a 37-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to give the Seahawks (4-2) a 28-0 halftime lead. Friends Academy fell to 1-6.

North Shore 38, Lawrence 24: Nick La Rosa rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns, Peter Liotta rushed for 96 yards and a score, Nick Livoti ran for 65 yards and a touchdown and Daniel Quigley ran six times for 40 yards and a score to lead North Shore.

Will Feldmann intercepted a pass in the first quarter and returned it to the 15-yard line to set up Quigley’s 15-yard touchdown to open the scoring for North Shore (4-2).

Liotta also had a 61-yard punt return for a touchdown, his second punt return for a score this season. Lawrence is 1-5.
