Meadors’ 201 yards, 2 TDs pace Hempstead

Dashawn Meadors rushed for two touchdowns and 201 yards on 13 carries to lead Hempstead to a 43-27 win over Plainview JFK Saturday in Nassau I. Meadors also had two sacks for Hempstead (2-2). Meadors ran 45 and 59 yards for the TDs. His first touchdown with 6:15 left in the second quarter gave Hempstead a 14-7 lead. Saybien Barron’s 25-yard touchdown pass to Javon Andrews with 9:47 left in the third quarter gave Hempstead a 28-7 lead. Amara Koroma was 5-for-5 on point-afters.

Massapequa 43, Westbury 6: Kenny Galvin completed 7 of 10 passes for 133 yards and three touchdowns, and also had six carries for 43 yards to lead Massapequa (4-0). After Westbury cut Massapequa’s lead to 8-6 on Viron Jones’ 9-yard touchdown pass to Darius Young in the first, the Chiefs responded by scoring the final 35 points of the game. Anthony Buckshaw had 32 rushing yards and a touchdown on seven carries. He also recorded three receptions for 41 yards and a 23-yard touchdown. Shane and Garrett Gibbons each recorded a touchdown, with Shane hauling in a 55-yard touchdown pass from Galvin in the second, and Garrett punching the ball into the end zone on a one-yard carry in the third. Garrett had 13 carries for 164 yards and a touchdown, and also completed his one pass attempt for 12 yards.

Uniondale 35, Hicksville 0: Kendrell Hickson’s 11-yard touchdown reception and 60-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter helped lift Uniondale (3-2). He had 54 receiving yards. Zach Knighton-Ward opened the scoring with a 9-yard run and had 92 yards rushing. Rolando Meyers-Turner completed 3 of 3 passes for 70 yards. Magin Saravia had six tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Baldwin 42, Valley Stream Central 0: Jonathan DeBique ran for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries to lead Baldwin (2-2). DeBique also had eight tackles. Mike Conforti completed 4 of 6 passes for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Tommy Ayers caught touchdown passes of 35 and 33 yards and converted all six extra-point attempts.
