Aaron Ruthman was 16 of 26 for 335 yards and four touchdowns to lead Elmont to a 33-6 win over Sewanhaka in its Nassau II opener yesterday.

Three of Ruthman’s four scores came on plays of at least 65 yards, including Lucas Mathieu taking a third-and-10 slant route 65 yards in the middle of the first quarter for the game’s first score. Mathieu finished with five receptions for 145 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Vincent McDonald had four receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns and Chester Andersen added four receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown.

Bellmore JFK 23, Manhasset 6: Ryder Lampert’s 27-yard field goal opened the scoring and Michael Papillo’s 60-yard punt return helped set up Jordan Pitti’s six-yard touchdown run that helped Bellmore JFK take a 16-0 lead. Dom Brocco ran 17 times for 89 yards and a touchdown, and Alec Deane also ran for a score. James Delsignore had 13 tackles and recovered a fumble. “We just played solid defense and had really good tackling,” coach Tom Durnin said. “It was hot out there and we kept playing tough.”

Jericho 22, Great Neck South 0: Patrick Jung scored three touchdowns — a 65-yard reception, a 40-yard reception and a 47-yard run — to power Jericho. Jung rushed five times for 74 yards. Ross Platz passed for 104 yards and ran for 25. Corey Lombardi had four tackles and two sacks. Jason Bortinck also had a sack. Zahran Abukoush had eight tackles.

Garden City 44, Calhoun 14: Colin Hart scored the first of six consecutive Garden City touchdowns on a 44-yard run after Calhoun’s Thomas Cummings ran 16 yards for a touchdown to start the scoring. Hart had 71 yards on six carries. Chris Mixon had 76 yards and two touchdown on seven carries, and Jamie Atkinson added 42 yards and a touchdown on three carries. Jack Bill threw a three-yard touchdown pass and also scored on a 29-yard run for Garden City. Billy Rousakis made all six of his extra point attempts.

Mepham 49, Great Neck North 14: Michael Proios completed 8-of-11 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 140 yards and a touchdown on seven carries to lead Mepham. Michael Valentino had 147 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries. Kevin McCleneghan had two catches for 105 yards and a touchdown, and he also made all five of his extra point attempts. Davin Jones had 4 tackles.
