Michael Proios’ 3-yard touchdown pass to Gianni Macchio with eight seconds left tied it for Mepham and the kick gave the team a one-point lead in a 35-34 win over MacArthur in a Nassau II football game Saturday.

Nick Cucinella’s interception near midfield iced the win.

Macchio’s winning TD reception, set up by a 35-yard pass to Anthony Novello and a screen pass to Kevin McCleneghan, capped a 60-yard drive in 2 minutes, 30 seconds, all orchestrated without a timeout.

Elmont 47, New Hyde Park 20: Michael Djalo had 140 yards and two TDs on seven rushes, including a 79-yard score, for Elmont. Chester Anderson had eight receptions for 110 yards and a 61-yard punt return for a TD, and Brian Jean-Baptiste was 10-for-19 passing for 195 yards and two TDs with one interception.

Bellmore JFK 38, Sewanhaka 8: Matthew Jones threw for 240 yards and three TDs for Bellmore JFK. Joe Pipillo recovered a fumble and scored seven seconds into the game for a 6-0 Bellmore lead. Richard Draude caught six passes for 105 yards, and Jake Fuller caught five passes for 80 yards.

Calhoun 40, Jericho 7: Nick Turrini had two carries for 35 yards and a TD and completed two passes for 26 yards and a TD to lead Calhoun. Dylan Radtke ran for 50 yards and a TD on 10 carries, and Chris Beck added 23 yards and a score on six carries, and Keith Rosales had a 25-yard TD run.

Carey 21, Valley Stream Central 2: Anthony DeNicola ran for 67 yards, including a 42-yard TD run, on eight carries, to pace Carey. Barry Moore added 17 yards on the ground including a TD on three carries. Samer Ciftcikal and Devin Hartz each had a sack.

Garden City 38, South Side 7: Trevor Yeboah-Kodie ran for 64 yards and a TD on 11 carries and he added a 23-yard TD reception to lead Garden City. Andrew DeSantis added 32 yards and two TDs on the ground on five carries.

Manhasset 40, Great Neck 8: Grant Petracca had 127 rushing yards and two TDs — one a 30-yarder — on 11 carries, to lead Manhasset. Thomas Santella passed for a 13-yard score and ran in another from 20 yards.
